Solar wind hybrid project in Nagaland

The Ministry has sanctioned 10kW Solar wind hybrid at Kezocha headquarters under Kohima district. The energy generated from this project will be utilized for government buildings at Kezocha headquarters, according to the annual administrative report 2016-17 of the Department of New & Renewable Energy. The project is expected to be completed within by the next financial year. The report also stated that under the scheme of Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, the Ministry has sanctioned solar power plants (off-grid) of capacity 855kWp and is under progress. This will be implemented in Central Jail Dimapur and 10 district sub-jails, government establishments at Kohima and Dimapur including Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) and College of Nursing & Institute of Paramedical (CN&IP) Diphupar, Dimapur. Under this programme, 5880 number of solar street lights has been sanctioned by the Ministry. The project is under progress and is likely to be completed by this month.
