Tuensang, January 16 (DIPR): The Special Outreach Programme, 3rd Quarter (2nd phase) was organized by Directorate of Field Publicity Ministry of I&B at Community Hall, Hakchang Village, Tuensang on January 16. EAC, Tuensang, Tshelhi-ü graced the programme as the chief guest.
The programme emphasized on “Beti Bachao Beti Phadhao” and “Swacchata Abhiyaan”. Council members, student leaders, church leaders of the village attended the programme.
FPO, Tuensang, Lhouzotuo Casavi delivered the keynote address. In his address, he apprised of the directive issued by the Ministry of I&B to conduct the Beti Bachao Beti Pahdao outreach programme especially in Hakchang Village on account of the decline in sex ratio to 85%.
DCPO, Tuensang, N S Khaki in his short speech exhorted the gathering using statistical data of the declining sex ratio. Highlighting the possible causes of the declining status of sex ratio in India, he highlighted the problems of female discrimination, female child foeticide, and also highlighted the importance of female child education and female health care to uplift the female status in society.
Jr. Er. PHED, P. Ngaman speaking on Swacchata Abhiyan highlighted the necessary components for successful implementation of the programme. He stressed on issues including the use of safe drinking water, sanitary toilet, personal hygiene and open defecation and its related diseases.
Summing up the speeches of the resource persons, the chief guest, Tshelhi-ü enlightened the gathering to get maximum benefit from the programme. Work more and get our district enlisted as an open defecation free district in State, she urged.
