Spiritual Camp encourages ‘integrity life’

Kohima, July 22 (MExN): A Spiritual Camp was held at MOCK auditorium, Mount Olive College from July 20 to 21, organised and sponsored by the Women Department of Sumi Baptist Church Kohima (SBCK).

Based on the theme of the camp, ‘Integrity Life’, Sumi Baptist Church Kohima pastor, Rev. Dr. Hokheto Chophi, who was the main speaker, encouraged the students to have a disciplined, sincere, and good attitude in life “because our walks of life reflect our integrity.”

Referring to Psalm 139:13-14, he said God has created each and everyone beautifully and unique, therefore everyone is different from the other and we can achieve our goals in different ways, informed a DIPR report.   Rev. Dr. Hokheto further stated many young people these days are failing to understand the purpose of God, disregard or push themselves so low and become frustrated, depressed in life thinking that is the end of their lives.

Therefore, he called upon the students to discipline themselves and push oneself that one can do and perform and have much better life if one puts faith and trust in God. “Every phase of our existence is an excitement and it depends on the individual to enjoy each phase of life, whether they have to strive to get ahead or get oneself disappointed or rejected,” he added.

The speaker also urged the students to add Jesus in their lives and let him be the driver, mentor and master of their lives. The students were also encouraged to think bright, big and beyond and be adventurous and come out from their cocoon if they want to achieve their goals. Rev. Dr. Hokheto also told them to henceforth treat themselves as the best and try to bring the best in a wonderful way and live an acceptable life that God had created them. He stated that nothing is impossible with God and called upon them to stand strong.

Principal of Mount Olive College, Narendra S Tiwari in his short greetings said that getting certificate is not the only thing in life, but becoming a person free from evil is the best integrity. He appealed to the students to practise what they have learnt from the camp and also encouraged them to have a strong bond with God. He also urged them to be good citizens and bring laurels to their society and to their state. Health care session was also conducted by Dr. Vili Swu Yeptho (for women) and Dr. Rio Chishi (for men).
