SRSU 33rd biannual general conference concludes

Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): The 33rd biannual general conference of Satakha Range Students’ Union (SRSU) concluded on January 15 at Hoishe Village. The session which began on January 12 with the theme ‘Growing impact’ was attended by G. Kaito Aye, MLA 36 A/C Satakha as chief guest and Vitoho Jimo, former INC candidate, 36 A/C Satakha and Zheito Chophy, former President, All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) as guests of honour.  

G. Kaito Aye exhorted the congregation to move forward with vision and be competitive. He stressed on the importance of skill development, being independent, promoting and preserving our rich culture. In the concluding event, Zheito Chophy, former President, All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) maintained that leaders and students are the common people representing the welfare of the students’ community and the people. He urged the students to remain apolitical and maintain protocol in the society. He further urged the students to be humble, God-fearing, self-determined and ambitious. Stating that change is the need of the hour in our society where corruption is deeply rooted, he asserted it is the duty of the public to urge leaders for developmental activities, good infrastructure and better communication. He also stressed on “quality leadership” and said that good coordination, teamwork, dedication and honesty is essential. When a responsible person fails to hold its responsibility, Chophy said, it is due to lack of quality leadership.  

Pastor Ihoshe, Hoishe Baptist Church Aizuto blessed the newly elected executive members for the tenure 2017-19 - Bokalu Jimo, President and Vinoholi Shohe, General Secretary and other members.
