SSA 2010 & 2013 batch teachers unpaid since Sept ‘18

Kohima, January 21 (MExN): The Nagaland SSA Teachers' Association Kohima Unit (NSSATA-KU) informed that SSA teachers of the 2010 and 2013 batches have not been paid their salaries since September 2018.

“The amount of mental and emotional turmoil we have been through is beyond one’s imagination. While the rest of the people had a merry Christmas, we had a weary Christmas,” noted the NSSATA-KU in a press release from its President, Thejangulie Kirha, and General Secretary, Melhouvonuo.

“The SSA teachers were assured of regular disbursement of salary along with streamlining into the state cadre,” they informed.

While acknowledging the efforts of the government and department for having started the streamlining process, “The regular disbursement of salary however still remains a distant dream,” the teachers lamented.

Appealing to the authorities concerned to prioritise their issues, the NSSATA-KU highlighted that “With the arrival of the New Year, we’re now faced with yet another dilemma, the problem of meeting the expenditure to our own respective posting places, when we can barely afford a square meal per day.”

The Association also requested the expediting of the “streamlining of the SSA 2010 and 2013 batches and put an end to this inhuman treatment.”
