Peren, April 10 (MExN): Investiture ceremony of Sainik School Punglwa (SSPN) for the academic session 2019-20 was held on April 10 at the school premises. Colonel Udai Bhanu Commandant 41 Assam Rifles, Medziphema graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested cadets, a press release stated. They were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school from the front with their commitment after a detailed deliberation from the respective houses.
The programme began with the Senior Master, Kanu Barman welcoming the chief guest. The Chief Guest presided over the piping of stripes to the school’s captain. A total of 39 cadets as School captains, House Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects for different houses were appointed. It was a day imbued with a sense of pride, discipline and leadership. The school and House appointees were administered an oath and pledged to discharge their responsibilities honestly, sincerely and to the best of their abilities. They also promised to display their dignity, integrity, discipline, leadership approach and a role model to all cadets.
The Chief Guest in his address noted that being in an institution like Sainik School and put to training is a matter of pride and privilege. He exhorted the appointees to do their best and help the administration in taking the school to greater height.
