DIMAPUR, APRIL 8 (MExN): Sainik School Punglwa held its annual Inter House Hockey Championship from April 30 to May 7. Six houses were in the fray and locked horns with each other for the trophy. The championship was played on the basis of league cum knock out. Patkai House played with Japfu House in the final today and won the title by 2 - 0 goals. Japfu and Saramati House secured second and third positions respectively. Cdt Chedu Dui of Japfu was conferred the best valuable player in the championship. In the final match both teams started off cautiously and the match was evenly poised till the end of the first quarter. As the match progressed, Patkai took control of the match and netted 2 goals one each by Cdt Atoki Zhimo and Cdt Lam Songlendonen. The final match was graced by the Principal Gp Capt and Sharad R Keskar as chief guest and it was also attended by Administrative Officer Lt Col Kiran Meitei and Vice Principal Sqn Ldr Sanjeev Chaudhary. The chief guest handed over the trophy to the champion house and gave away the medals and certificates to the first runners up and second runners up.
