SSUST urges cleaning electoral roll

Kiphire, August 4 (MExN): The Sumi Students’ Union Sitimi Town (SSUST) has urged all responsible citizens of Kiphire District to participate in the initiative to clean the electoral roll.

The Union in a press release stated that it is unfortunate that there are “myriad nonexistent ghost names” in the voter list and insisted that such names must be “weeded out immediately”.

“Constituency MLA should be elected by genuine electorate to ensure that the grievances and plights of the people are effectively addressed,” the SSUST reiterated.

The union also appreciated and endorsed the representation submitted to the Chief Electoral Office (C.E.O) Nagaland by Kiphire Tuensang District Sumi Student (KTDSSU) and Pungro Area College Student Union (PACSU) linking Aadhaar card with electoral roll under Kiphire district.

The union assured its “unfettering support” to the initiative of KTDSSU and PACSU in enabling the electoral officer to bring out the clean electoral roll “for the growth and development of our area”.
