St Christopher School cultural cum literary competitions underway

Tuensang, September 11 (MExN): The inauguration of the three-day annual cultural cum literary competitions was held at St Christopher School, Chessore, Tuensang district with Timothy Throngji, Head Teacher, GMS, Chessore B as chief guest on September 11.


During his speech, the chief guest said, “Our culture defines our character. Without having proper understanding of our culture, we cannot become good citizens.”


He expressed happiness that St Christopher School was trying to provide proper platform for the children to learn more about the values inherent in culture through folk dance, folk song, folk stories and traditional attire.


Speaking about the literary competitions, he stated that when the children utilize their intellectual capacity, they grow better. 


The annual event will include activities such as mathematical puzzle, mental aptitude, quiz, debate, news reading, hair styling, fancy dress, advertisement, poetry in action, extempore speech, prepared speech, talent show, spot choreography, spelling bee, drawing and colouring, handwriting, story writing, translation, listening comprehension, singing and dance. 


Earlier, Reverend Fr Loyola Antony, Principal delivered the welcome address while the school choir presented welcome song. The KG section children also presented action song and dance. Akumkhiung chaired the programme. Donan Victor, Headmaster proposed the vote of thanks.
