Stage and drama workshop held at Hope Academy

Schoolchildren along with their two tutors display their certificates on the concluding day of the workshop on acting and drama at Hope Academy, Friday.



Nineteen children from different schools in Dimapur displayed their acting talent with their parents as the audience on the concluding day of a 25-day workshop on drama and stage acting held here at Hope Academy.


The workshop conducted by two alumni of the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi – Bendang Walling and Arun Thapa – introduced to the children the basic techniques and craft of stage acting and drama.


The small actors did not disappoint the audience either as they acted out a classroom and tuition-based theme act with full enthusiasm and passion.


Sharing his experience with the children, Walling said Naga children are smart, talented and born actors. The only drawback in their “inhibitions”, which can be overcome through such workshops and coming-together, he said.


Later, all the children who took part in the workshop were awarded NSD certificates.
