State BJP observes Good Governance Day

Dimapur, December 27 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP observed Good Governance Day on December 27 at Dimapur to honour the Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee which falls on December 25.

Chairing the programme, Jaangsillung Gonmei, State General Secretary, greeted the gathering and explained that since the birthday of Vajpayee and Christmas coincides, the Good governance Day could not be observed on December 25.  

Former State President, Dr. M. Chuba speaking on the topic “Good Governance of BJP-led NDA Government” presented a detailed account of the performance of the NDA government and insisted that the government had been striving to create a transparent administration while delivering development on all fronts, all over the country.  

He said it was the BJP government under former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee who recognized Naga political issue as “unique” and steadfastly undertook every possible measure to find a solution. It is the BJP government who is paying special attention to the far reaches of North East in its effort to bring all round development all over the country, Dr. Chuba added.  

James Vizo, Convenor, Media Cell speaking on the topic “Projects and Schemes of BJP-led NDA Government” highlighted some of the important schemes of the BJP-Led NDA government and described how the schemes have been implemented in all states including Nagaland.  

He explained in detail the features of Jan Dhan Yojana zero balance bank account for citizens above 10 years old, insurance schemes of Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana etc.  

Minister Imtilemba Sangtam spoke in length about the development and challenges of the party and the government in the past, the present circumstances and the prospects that lie ahead.
