Kohima, January 28 : Governor Nikhil Kumar announced that the state government will upgrade 329 km road connecting Mon, Longleng, Phek and Zunheboto district headquarters with two lane specifications over the next three years under Special Accelerated Road Development Programme for North East (SARDP-NE).
Once these roads are completed, the Governor said, the traveling time will be reduced and the people of these areas will be greatly benefited.

In his Republic Day speech, the Governor said that harnessing the talents and energies of the people for the goal for all round social and economic development is a sacred duty of the government, and the government have conscientiously worked to fulfill it.
He said that nothing can achieve these goal better than good quality infrastructure, especially roads.
The Interstate Bus and Truck Terminus for Tuensang will be initiated this year he said adding that another important activities has been the full computerization of the process of issuance of national permits for commercial vehicles.
The state is also strengthening the infrastructure for the existing helicopter service.
