Dimapur, July 11 (MExN): Earth Friendly Generation in collaboration with Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi is organizing two-day state level training programme on organic/natural farming for NGOs, VOs, CBOs, Government departments etc. in Nagaland which is scheduled on July 23 and 24 at State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) Conference Hall, New Secretariat, Kohima.
Earth Friendly Generation in a press release said that organic agriculture is an integrated production management system which promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles and soil biological activity. To make agriculture sustainable, restore ecological balance, improving soil quality, health, promote indigenous crops and an end to chemical farming.
The training programme is being organized with the following objectives: To make people aware and develop alternative strategy over chemical farming; to develop self-sufficient agricultural system and to rely on within its own resources; to promote adequate production of food through organic farming in the foreseeable future.
During the two-day programme, Diku Esalung, Founder and Director of Rural Community Development Centre Society (RCDCS), Nagaland and Botoshe, Founder and Managing Director of Rural Connect (RC), Nagaland will be the resource person and trainers.
The programme will be of both theory and practical on organic/natural farming. Besides, other well-known speakers engaged in this field on organic/natural farming promotion shall take part in it.
The Organisers have informed that seat reservation will be done on first come first basis as limited seats are available; participation certificate of the programme will be provided at the end of the workshop; lunch will be provided to all the participants; and the last date for reservation of seat will be on July 17.
