State to observe National Voters Day

Mon: The Deputy Commissioner, Mon Dinesh Kumar, IAS has informed to all the concern that along with the rest of the country the First National Voters Day shall be cerebrated on January 25 at the conference hall of the DC, Mon in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Election Commission of India. In this connection all the administrative officers under Mon Headquarter, Block Level Officers (BLO), and newly enrolled voters for polling station No: 1 to 13 and 24, under 45 A/C, Mon Town are directed to attend the above mentioned programme on 25th January at 11 a.m. at the DC’s conference hall, Mon. It further requested the Mon Town Council, recognized political parties and the NGOs under Mon district to depute at least 3 (three) representatives to attend the aforesaid function.

Kohima: The 1st National Voters’ Day celebration will be held on January 25 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima at 12:00 noon. The programme will be chaired by DC Kohima & District Election Officer, Bei-u Angami. A brief profile of elections will be delivered by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, N. Moa Aier. Welcome speech will be given by Assistant Election Officer, Kohima, Vekho Vero. There will be presentation of EPILs/Badges/Prizes to new voters and winners of SMS Slogan competition. Electoral Registration Officer & ADC, Kohima, Alun Hangsing will tender vote of thanks.

Phek:
The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Phek, Mikha Lomi has issued an notification for the general information to all concern that the Election Commission of India has declared January 25 as the first National Voters Day in commemoration of its Diamond Jubilee celebration from January 2010-January 2011 with the them ‘Greater Participation for a Stronger Democracy’. Accordingly the District Level National Voters Day will be organised at the DC’s Conference Hall on January 25 at 12:00 noon. All head of offices, colleges/schools, NGOs (CPO, PPF, CSU/PSU/Youth Front/Mothers Association), Town Council Advisors, Booth Level Officers & Registered Voters are requested to attend the felicitation ceremony function positively. Subscription of voters pledge will take place during the function.
