Statement on present situation in Nagaland

Bendangsashi Ex MLA

In the year 1953, the Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru had invited Ono of Myanmar and had promised to give away the much greater part of Nagaland about 120 lakh Sq. Km of Nagaland; followed by erection of boundary pillars in the year 1955. After this, bloodshed in Nagaland had started killing countless lives by the Indian armies with unlimited powers. He was followed by his daughter Indira Gandhi -- The Tiger, followed by her son Rajiv Gandhi. They formed dynastic rule in India and under this dynastic rule, Indian armies with unlimited power was given. The Ceasefire made in the year 1964 September between the Federal Govt. of Nagaland and the Govt. of India upto this time, a little more than 1 Lakh of Nagas population perished; in those days, only about 4 Lakhs of total population was there in Nagaland.

In short, now Congress party in India revived under Rahul Gandhi, a young leader- emotional and shortsighted leader now we see the revival of dynastic rulers in India with limitless power. As such, now the Nagaland Congress leaders wake up once more causing insoluble problem in our political sphere. Now our Prime Minister is facing problem and now his promise made to us Nagas in the year 2015 and 2016 is stuck as he is now facing Indian Congress and Nagaland Congress as well as because he is facing untold and unexpected headache.

Now, RSS power increased and often it creates more headache and it will increase their limitless power over the public of India.

Under this situation, it seems the Prime Minister is not free to stick up to his promises to us Nagaland. Now it seems he is helpless to stick to his promises and had blown away leaving the Nagas to suffer once more under limitless Indian Army’s power, the so called AFSPA.

The present Nagaland area is only 15,000 Sq.Km, the area taken by Assam including the Reserved Forest, Tea Garden, Coalfields and Oil Fields is About 5000 Sq. Km.

If the Prime Minister cannot execute what he promised to us Nagas, the best thing for him is to resign and handover the Prime Ministership to Rahul Gandhi. I know as an elderly man of 85, I know who is who in India. AS such, as an elderly man, my advice is that the Prime Minister of India is better to resign and hand over his authority to Rahul Gandhi.
