Gorkha Baptist Churches in Nagaland hold 10th annual conference
Tuensang, January 14 (MExN): The 10th annual conference of Association of Gorkha Baptist Churches of Nagaland (AGBCN) was held from January 12 to 14 with the theme ‘In step with the word of God’ (2 Tom 3: 16-17). It was hosted by Nepali Baptist Church Tuensang at its church premises in Tuensang Town.
The main speakers of the conference were pastor of Tuensang Baptist Church, Rev H Sangkap Chang and pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church, Rev Ponen Longchar. Bible study speakers were pastor of GBC Niuland, Rev Krishna Sundas and pastor of NBC Phek, Rev Kewezolo Mero. DTNBC Duncan Youth Department led the congregation in praise and worship.
A press release from AGBCN Executive Secretary, Santabir Rai informed that 240 delegates from 40 affiliated Nepali and Gorkha Churches and Fellowships under AGBCN attended the three-day services.
During the conference, NBC Wazeho and NBF Piphema were given affiliation to the Association, while Rajen Thapa of DTNBC was granted pastoral license and Pastor Narendra Subba of NBC Wokha was ordained as reverend, it said.
New team of AGBCN office bearers led by Tek Gurung and 15-member Executive Council, AGBCN Pastor’s Fellowship led by chairman pastor of NBC Kohima Surjay B Sapkota, Church and Mission Board led by pastor of NBC Tseminyu Kumar Sangpang, Women Department led chairperson Amongla Sunar, Youth Department led by pastor of NBC Chumukedima Robert Aley, Resource and Development Committee led by Chupaman Rai, License and Ordination Committee led by Rev Krishna Sundas were also installed for the tenure 2018-20.
The 10th Annual General Meeting of AGBCN was also held during the conference.
