Kohima, December 1 (MExN): In reiteration to the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima notice and in pursuance of the directives of the Supreme Court order, the Kohima Municipal Council notified all the concerned that there shall be strict ban on sale of tobacco products during the Hornbill festival at Kisama village. Kovi Meyase, Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council in a press release said that in exercise of the power conferred by section 21, 24 and 25 of the Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and regulation of the trade and commerce, production, supply and distribution) Act 2003, there should be effective implementation of Section 4 of COTPA 2003 Section 4: Prohibition of smoking in public places. “Any person violating this order shall be liable to be punished as per the law,” Meyase added.
