Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): A workshop on ‘Violence against Women and Children & Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace’ was jointly organized by State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), Nagaland and Immanuel College, Dimapur on May 11 at the Immanuel College auditorium for students and faculty members of the college.
The resource persons for the programme were Renthunglo Kikon, Call Responder, Women Helpline-181 and Lanuienla Imchen, Helpline Manager, Women Helpline-181.
A press release issued by Akutu Poireng, Media Cell convener, Immanuel College stated that the objective of the workshop was to educate students and faculty members about the schemes – Sakhi-One Stop Centre and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. The schemes aim to provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence, both in private and public space, to facilitate emergency and non-emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counseling support under one roof, and also generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls.
The program was chaired by Moanaro Jamir, Asst Professor, while introduction of the schemes was given by Weri-U Mero, Centre Administrator, OSC.
