Sohomi Students' Union 48th general session held 
 

Phek, January 14 (MExN): The Sohomi Students' Union (SSU) held its 48th general session under the theme ‘prioritizing education’ at village Panchayat hall on January 11 with Mushithi Nuwiry, Signal officer, 7th NAP Bhandari Town, Wokha as the guest speaker and Virashe Nusory, L/T GHS, Sohomi as the valedictory guest.


SSU, General Secretary, Divito Vese in a press release stated that addressing the gathering, the guest speaker urged the students to strive for quality education stating that mere education is not enough. He also told the students to be honest, discipline, fear God and work tirelessly to achieve their goals. Talking about the ill effects of technology, he warned the students to be cautious in utilising technology. He further reminded the students to keep their dreams alive by making education a priority. 


Valedictory guest, Virashe Nusory also spoke in the second session and encouraged the students to be determined and dedicated in their studies. He also urged the parents to support their children in their education stating that students are the true assets of society. 


Earlier in the first session, the programme began with an invocation by Rukhathi Tsory, Ex Head deacon. Mudotso Nuwiry, President SSU delivered presidential address and general secretary report was presented by its general secretary Divito Vese. Nukuto Shijoh, CSU education secretary also brought greetings on behalf of the Chakhesang Students' Union. 


Other highlights of the event includes folk tune by Kese Tsory and friends. Liwang Venuh performed special number  while vote of thanks was proposed by Mudonolu Nuwiry and Nukulu Nuwiry, L/T GHS Phek Village pronounced the benediction. The first session was chaired by Nuvide Nuwiry, vice-president, SSU while the second session was chaired by Thujozolu Tsory, Women affair, SSU.
