Students write book to promote literature

Releases ‘Peli Mhathu’ – a collection of poems and short stories

Kohima, November 23 (MExN): The Tenyidie Honours students of B.A. 6th semester (2015-2018 batch) Kohima College Kohima released a book titled ‘Peli Mhathu’ consisting of 52 poems and 8 short stories which were written by the students themselves.  

The book was released by Thinuokhrienuo Tseikha, Vice Principal, Kohima College Kohima at its Conference Hall. Speaking on the release of the book, the Vice Principal shared that it was a proud moment for the college and that this kind of good contributions should be practiced more. While congratulating the students for the milestone achievement, she also remarked that it will be written in the record of the college as a great achievement.  

Mhalezolie Kire, HOD, Department of Tentidie Kohima College Kohima sharing the greeting message highlighted that it is a first ever in the history of the college where students have collectively released a book of their own. He also mentioned that since past many great English writers have made great career by publishing books and that even in modern era, the scope is high.  

The programme was attended by host of college assistant and associate professors, other staff members and students. Vimeyiekho Vitso chaired the program, meanwhile the Vice Principal invoked God's blessings, Mhaphruonuo and Thekruvinuo presented a song, while Khrievotuoü Medom and Mezivil Kiso read some poems from the book.  

The Tenyidie Honours students mentioned that the book has been written to promote and preserve the rich heritage of the Tenyidie literature. The book is priced at Rs.150 and will be available in the Kohima College Students Council office and will soon be made available in the book stalls.
