Around 20 children from different schools, age group of 8 to 11 years are having their summer vacation in the world of ‘Theatre In Education’ with Bendang Walling and Arun Thapa from National School of Drama. Sashila Ozukum, Proprietor of Hope Academy is the coordinator for the workshop which is organised by NSD (Theatre In Education) Agartala in collaboration with Hope Academy and Hill Theatre, Nagaland.
The workshop is focus in the overall development of Children. It incorporates various Theatre technique and Drama methodologies to engage the children to understand and perceive themselves in the world they live in. It is a process where they are allowed to discover themselves in a holistic approach.
The workshop will culminate with a classroom demonstration or a full pledged production based on an educational drama ‘Teamwork’ written by Debabrata Mahanta, a well know Children playwright from Jorhat (Assam) on August 4.
