‘Educate citizens not through words but through action’
Nagaland's school education director Wonthungo Tsopoe in a message read out by Dr. Rio on the occasion, challenged the teachers to educate the citizens not through words but through action and be an agent of change.
Tsopoe could not make to this programme due to his engagement at the review meeting of new National Education Policy today.

“In today's context, education has become too expensive. Many parents cannot afford to send their children/wards to such school. The only option is the government schools. There is a notion among our people that one gets better education only if students are sent to private schools. In government schools everything is free; uniform, textbooks, coaching etc. But we still don't want to take the offer,” said lamented.

Tsopoe stated that the department has already decided to give award to the best performing school and wishes GMS Daklane to get this award.

“Let us all give our best in building better future for our society,” he stated.
