Surayim FC lifts 10th Saramati Soccer C’ship 2018

The guest along with the organizing team and Surayim FC at public ground Pungro town on December 15.

Kiphire, December 16 (MExN): Surayim FC emerged as champions of the 10th edition of Saramati Soccer Championship 2018, after defeating Faith Baller Phuvkiu by 2-1 goals at public ground Pungro town on December 15.


The team walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 60,000 along with trophy. Sungu of Faith Ballers and Johny Chakhesang of Night Warriors were awarded the Golden boots while Along of Faith Ballers was awarded Golden glove. Yaplemthong of Surayim was named the best defender while Sinlo Kath of Magnificent Eleven FC bagged the player of the tournament.


The valedictory programme was graced by Advisor Khongsa Area Public Organization (KAPO) and former Executive Chairman Yimchungru Tribal Council (YTC) Shellumthong. The guest of honour also distributed the prizes.


Speaking on the occasion, Shellumthong lauded the organizer Saramati Nexus Club for conducting an event to mould the career of the budding youths and urged them to continue with upholding the spirit of sportsmanship in order to compete in various level of sports and games arena.


President SNC David Deshilen expressed gratitude to all the participants and contributors of the tournament.


The 10th edition of Saramati Soccer Championship 2018 was organized by Saramati Nexus Club, While honoring a decade completion of nurturing the youths, it lamented that there was no assistance from the government despite repeated appeals by the organizers.
