Surhoneyi Soho is Phek area wrestling champ

Surhoneyi Soho of Phek village today emerged as the champion of the 25th Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA) Meet held at Phek town. He was awarded cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.  

Runner-up Vekutho Soho also from Phek village pocketed Rs. 70,000.  

Surhovoyi Nienu of Khomi and Sherayi Rhakho of Khuza village claimed third and fourth places and were awarded Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively.  

The top four wrestlers along with eight others viz., Vezuhu Khamo – Lozaphuhu, Vekuzo Vezhü – Khomi, Rukusü Lohe – Khomi, Kewecholo Akami – Losami, Putuzo Keyho – Phek, Kuzhoseyi Chizo – Chiepokuta, Shelutso Soho – Phek and Külüveto Venuh – Phek will represent PAWA at the forthcoming Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) meet at Chetheba from February 8-9.   Earlier, Minister for home Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
