‘Sustainable development rests on principle of unity’

6th three-day Japukong Youth Organization Volley Ball Tournament underway

Mokokchung, January 5 (MExN): The 6th three-day Japukong Youth Organization Volley Ball Tournament was declared opened by Dr. Benjongliba Aier, Parliamentary Secretary (CAWD & Taxes) at Yajang 'C' Village on January 4.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Aier emphasized to the youths of Japukong range to work together in cohesion in order to face the challenges ahead of them in the era of globalized competition. He reminded all the participants to remember the motto of the founding fathers of the Range with the theme ‘Unity’ and suggested that the “sustainable development rests on the principle of unity that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs by integrating environmental health, economic profitability and social and economic equity.”

Dr. Aier expressed that the present DAN Government under TR Zeliang leadership emphasized on the youth welfare and development and giving more importance on games and sports. He encouraged the youth to be sincere, punctual, more disciplined and avoid all the evil vices in order to build up their physical and spiritual life.

“To attain a goal, we must not only wish but also strive hard to fulfill our wish. Be disciplined and develop positive attitude. A good discipline is the fragrance of our positive attitude while a bad discipline is the stench of our negative attitude. In this kind of competition, one may face success or failure,” Dr Aier stated.

This was stated in a press release issued by Press Secretary to the Parliamentary Secretary (CAWD & Taxes).
