Kohima, May 7 (MExN): A review meeting ambassador’s of Swachh Bharat Mission, convened by the Governor of Nagaland and brand ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission, PB Acharya was held at Raj Bhavan Kohima on May 7.
The Governor appreciated the State Ambassadors and the work they were doing in tune with Swachh Bharat. He encouraged the ambassadors to construct public toilets in all their respective districts and stated that public toilets play a role in community health and individual well-being. He also added that women face a lot of difficulties were public toilets are not available.
Governor Acharya also harped on the importance of rain water harvesting. He opined that hill station face water scarcity during the dry season and stated that Rainwater harvesting was the need of the hour. He called on the ambassadors to encourage others to take up water harvesting in their respective districts.
The ambassadors highlighted the Governor on the various activities and programmes taken up by them in their respective areas. They also submitted their reports during the meeting, stated a press release issued by PRO to Governor.
