T. Khel overall champs of 63rd KVSA Meet

T. Khel annexed the overall champion at the 63rd KVSA meet 2018, which concluded on Friday at local ground, Kohima, hosted by Kohima Village youth Organization (KVYO).  

T. Khel secured 21 gold, followed by L. Khel with 11 gold, D. Khel with 7 gold and P. Khel with 4 gold respectively.  

On last day of the meet, D. Khel swept the wrestling event, by winning the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively, with first timer 19-year old Kezhaseluo-o Pienyu stunning defending champion Dzieselatuo Keretsu in the final to emerge as the new champion. Menuosetuo Yiese secured the third place and Kekhriengulie Whuorie (T. Khel) claimed fourth place.  

The individual champions for men was claimed by Neiketuolie Belho of T. Khel who bagged 2 gold and 2 silver while in women’s segment, it went to Dziesengunuo Solo who claimed 3 gold and 1 silver.  

Speaking at the closing, Guest of honour Er. Keviletuo Yiese, President Kohima Village Gazetted Officers Association (KVGOA) lauded the KVYO for having the sense of professionalism in organizing the KVSA meet.   He also expressed happiness that the players competing were improving over the years in the games and sports events. Further he also urged the players to aim to play at a higher level with the long term plan to compete at the national and international level.   During the weeklong meet, altogether eight records were re-written in track and field events.
