TAAP residential training in Nagaland soon

Mokokchung, March 20 (MExN): An orientation programme was conducted by team from Centre for Microfinance and Livelihood (CML), Guwahati in collaboration with Care & Support Society, Mokokchung at the office premises on March 20.

During the programme, CML skills team introduced the Tata Affirmative Action Programme (TAAP) as a residential training based at Kolkata cum employability programme, mostly targeting unemployed graduate youth from the underprivileged sections of the society.  

This programme covers three states- Nagaland, Manipur and Meghalaya and its spans to over 14 weeks (80-100 hours). It is designed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) with the objective of equipping the trainees with basic life skills and essential industry demanded skills, thereby ensuring that they can secure jobs. The team further explained that the programme is divided into two modules; the first of which spans 8 weeks during which trainees are taught basic life skills.  

The second module running over 6 weeks focuses on extensive skill development training such as basic IT skills, corporate etiquette, etc and is initiated by Centre for Microfinance in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services which is supported by Tata Trusts.  

A total of 13 candidates participated and availed the programme brochures for registration. Care and Support Society organization headed by Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director will be the point of contact for registration from Mokokchung District. Through the organization more unemployed graduates who are 28 years and below as per their academic date of birth and also who are genuinely interested in the programme would be taken on board.  

It was further conveyed that the first batch which will be commencing on May 8, 2017 will be of women’s batch and followed by second batch which are male on July 10, 2017.  

CSS, Managing Director, Imchawati Kichu stated in a press release that further discussion with the participants was initiated and thus, the first mobilization drive in Mokokchung district was successfully undertaken with the active participation of Care & Support Society team.
