TASU appeals for resumption of NST bus service to Tobu

Mon, December 15 (MExN): Tobu Area Students' Union (TASU) on behalf of the general public of Tobu has highlighted the “miserable condition” faced by the people of the area without NST bus services from Mon district headquarters to Monyakshu SDO HQ and Tobu ADC HQ, which have been discontinued from April 2017.

In an open letter to the General Manager of Nagaland State Transport (NST), the students’ union stated that Tobu sub-division being the farthest from the district headquarters, commuters have been facing “untold hardship” regarding transportation especially during the festive seasons.

“Due to lack of NST bus service, transportation has now become major issue for common people, especially students, patients and senior citizens. The only mode of transportation that the vast population gets is a private transportation (Sumo service) which cannot accommodate the ever growing population,” it pointed out. The fare of the transportation is also another major setback, stated the letter appended by TASU president, T Muklong.

In this light, the union has urged the authority to take serious note of the grievances and resume the NST bus service at the earliest.
