PTLTU: The Phek Town Local Taxi Union (PTLTU) in a condemnation note urged the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) that “no stone should be left unturned to punish the guilty and for justice to prevail.”

BJP: The Nagaland State BJP also condemned the crime committed on the victim, who is also president of the Phulomi Village BJP Local Area Committee. “The entire BJP fraternity is greatly shocked to learn that such crime of carjacking at the cost of innocent lives exists in the state and exposes the vulnerability of the common people in their day to day existence,” a statement from Jaangsillung Gonmei, General Secretary (Media), BJP Nagaland said. Maintaining that such criminal acts persist because the criminals are not booked in time and complete justice do not prevail, the BJP demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, book the criminal(s) immediately and ensure justice for restoring security, peace and development. The State BJP also demanded that the police be further equipped with advanced equipments and measures for prevention of criminal activities, including forensic and other investigative tools. Recurrences of such incidences also call for the overhauling of the policing and justice system, it said. “His contributions to the party’s development shall be remembered,” the release added.

EA: Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) also stated it is shocked and disturbed by the murder of Swuduve Nakro. In a press note, it described the deceased as a sincere and hardworking member of EA since 2010. He served in the capacity of Mithun Project Field Coordinator, Pholami Village from September 2012 to September 2015 and was the Chairman of the Pholami Mithun Farmers’ Club. EA maintained that such crimes and murders can be reduced if there are proper surveillance and CCTV coverage in the main public spaces across Kohima Town and other urban areas of Nagaland. Therefore, it urged the Government of Nagaland to put in place such security measures immediately so that the law enforcing agencies will have better tracking systems against crimes ensuring citizens’ lives more safe. Further, the press note stated incidents such as this bring to light the vulnerability of budding entrepreneurs and self employed people who are trying to make a living on a day to day basis.

EA acknowledged it has lost a wonderful member who was on the path of growth and creating opportunities not only for himself but for the Naga nation. While condemning the murder and theft of a brand new Alto 800 Taxi belonging to the victim, EA requested the law enforcing agencies to swiftly arrest the criminals and deliver justice at the earliest. “May the death of Lt. Swuduve be the beginning of letting justice roll in Nagaland,” it wished. The above organizations also offered condolences to the bereaved family.
