TDLSA visits Kohdi Children’s Home

Tuensang, November 4 (MExN): The Tuensang District Legal Services Authority (TDLSA) on November 3 visited Kohdi Children’s Home, situated 8 km away from Tuensang town.  

Presently there are 11 children between the age group of 11 to 5 years, out of which six children attend the Government Primary School Saksi 3rd NAP Sector while five children will start their schooling from next year.  

The TDLSA team led by N. Kano, Judicial Magistrate First Class and Secretary TDLSA with Panel Lawyers interacted with the staffs regarding the infrastructures, activities and functioning of the home, and found “quite satisfactory.”  

During the interaction with the team, some of the children expressed that they are happier at the Kohdi home as they get proper meal and are never hungry.  

Besides conducing co-curricular activities and social work, it was informed that the children are given counselling by the counsellor who stays with the children. Prayer meetings and church service are also regularly conducted. It is also learnt that there is visiting nurse to take care of the children’s health. The TDLSA team distributed juice, biscuits and eggs. Children presented praise and worship songs and bible reading.
