Team from Nepal wins Kohima Downhill 2016

Kohima, December 4 (MExN): Team Gnarly from Kathmandu, Nepal won the Hornbill Mountain Biking Festival - Kohima Downhill 2016 held at Phemasa village on December 4. The 2 km downhill race was started by Native Station in association with Alaphra Group and supported by Tourism Department with Psynyde Bikes (Performance Bikes and Components) from Pune as the official biking partner.   The prized distribution ceremony was held at the World War II Museum, Heritage Village where the winners were handed the prizes by officials from the Tourism Department, Art & Culture and patrons.   A press release informed that the winners received cash prizes worth Rs.1 lakh and Starkenn bikes worth over Rs.80,000.   Seniors: 1st Prize - Suman Tamang (Team Gnarly, Katmandu, Nepal) 2nd Prize - Shakar Yakthumba (Gyanodaya team, Katmandu, Nepal) 3rd Prize - Gautam Taode (Giant Off Road Racing Team, Pune, Maharashtra) Female 1st Prize - Jordi Basu, Nagaland 2nd Prize - Lunili Awomi (Team Native Station, Nagaland) Juniors 1st Prize - Meguo Benny Metha, (Team Native Station, Nagaland) 2nd Prize - Apshai Griffith Niangti (Shillong Downhill Race Team, Meghalaya) 3rd Prize - Ronan Bazeley(Shillong Downhill Race Team, Tribe Fiction Apparel, Meghalaya)
