Thai Princess attends Manipur Sangai Festival

Newmai News Network Imphal | November 28   Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of 'Kingdom of Thailand' attended the biggest annual tourism festival of the State, Manipur Sangai Festival 2018 at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) in Imphal on November 27.   The Princess was accompanied by Thailand Ambassador to India Chutintorn Gongsakdi, officials of Royal Thai Embassy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Thailand, media team from Thailand and also the officials of Indian Ministry of External Affairs.   The Princess and her entourage was accorded a warm welcome by scores of people at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) along with Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Cabinet Ministers, Chairmans, MLAs, Chief Secretary, DGP and top civil and police officials. She witnessed the cultural performances both from Manipur and Thailand.   Speaking on the occasion, Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn said that it was a great pleasure to visit the State and experience the Manipur Sangai Festival. She appreciated the Government’s initiative of ‘Act East Policy’ and mentioned that Thailand would extend co-operation in this regard.
