Mokokchung | January 21 

A five-member delegation of scholars from Thailand, including four university students and an assistant professor, will be arriving Mokokchung on January 22 on a three-day visit. 


The scholars from Srinakharinwirot University Bangkok, Thailand were invited to Mokokchung specifically to interact with the civil society organizations, Ao Naga villagers and others for familiarization with the socio-cultural and traditional systems of the Ao Nagas. This was informed by Er Temsu Wathi Ao, District Informatics Officer, NIC Mokokchung.


The Thai visitors will be arriving Mokokchung on January 22 and will hold an interactive meeting with civil society organizations at the Commissioner’s Guest House, Mokokchung later in the afternoon. On January 23, they will interact with the elders of Ungma and Mokokchung villages and on January 24, they will visit ABAM Impur before departing to Mariani, Assam by road.


The Thai delegation will be led by Veera Phansue, Assistant Professor and Project Director, Department of Thai and ASIAN Music, Faculty of Fine Arts at Srinakharinwirot University Bangkok, Thailand. Advisor of Tai Ahom Students’ Union, Rajib Borgohain and Thai World Conference National (TWC) National Coordinator India, Manash Protim Chetia will also be joining the Thai delegation.
