Three from Nagaland receives ‘unsung heroes’ award

Mumbai, November 16 (MExN): Three Naga ‘unsung heroes’ were awarded by Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari during the 1st Northeast Unsung Heroes Red Carpet Social Award 2019 held in Mumbai on November 15.


Around 23 Unsung Heroes of eight states of North East India who were recognized for their “silent contribution to the society” during the event hosted by Find Studioz & Seil Mumbai.  


The award recipient from Nagaland are Toyi Swuro from Phek who is said to have repaired footwear for poor school children, for free; Rose Longchar from Dimapur, a film actress to feature in a Bollywood movie, and have acted also in Nagamese, Nepali and Hindi movies; and Menuodilhou Maurice Üsou from Nerhema village in Kohima, a Taekwondo Black belt 4 degree holder.


The award is an initiative of Rebecca Changkija Sema with co-organizers including Jutikaa Mahanta, Shiraz Henry, Pavi R Shakya, Sujata Pradhan, Ashibo Chishi Swu and  Ankita tiwari, 


A press release received here stated that UFO has given 70 Theaters PAN India to promote this event while Mumbai Dabbawala has also supported this noble cause to encourage the youth from Northeast India.
