On Tokhu Emong, Governor reminds community to thank farmers

Kohima, November 5 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya today extended greetings to the Lotha community on the occasion of Tokhu Emong, a festival associated with harvesting of crops and celebration of brotherhood, forgiveness, and oneness.

In a message, he reminded the community to take time and thank Almighty God for his unwavering love and blessing.

The Governor further called on the Lothas to continue safeguarding and promoting the rich culture and traditions through the festival and come together and rededicate oneself to make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful co-existence and for all round development in the State.

Meanwhile, he reminded the community to thank the farmers for their hard work. Stating that the Central and State Governments have welfare projects for farmers such as soil testing, Kisan credit card, National Food Security Mission etc to help in production and productivity, he said, “It should be our responsibility that these welfare projects are made known to them and motivate them to avail the services for their benefit.”

“May the festival of Tokhu Emong bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Lothas in particular and Nagas in general,” the Governor wished.
