Wokha, September 8 (MExN): The department of Civil Defence & Home Guards (CD & HG) Wokha has conducted an awareness and training programme on disaster management on September 7 to the public of three colonies/wards under Wokha town- Suren Likya, Orchid and GA Project colonies.
The colony members were imparted with basic training on first aid and emergency methods of rescue. A brief lecture was also given on "dos and don'ts during earthquakes".
Demonstrations on search and rescue techniques were displayed and practical training was also imparted by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
According to a press release issued by the district commandant CD & HG Wokha, Avinuo, the department has already conducted a number of trainings to different schools including Bharat Scouts & Guides under the district during the current financial year, while all the colonies and wards of Wokha town will also be provided similar training and awareness on disaster management in a phase-wise manner within the next few months.
