Kohima, December 6 (MExN): Two-day training on Plan Plus for Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) is underway at Rural Development Directorate with Master Trainers from Ministry of Panchayat Raj (MoPR), Amit Kumar and Sheetal Singhal. The training will conclude on December 7.
Publicity Cell, Rural Development in a press release stated that Plan Plus is a software application developed by NIC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in order to demystify and strengthen the decentralized planning process. The software is web-based and captures the entire planning workflow starting from identification of needs, the plan approval process till the final approval by the District Planning Committee. The software is highly generic and can be extended to capture the plans prepared by line departments at the State and Central level to generate the National Plan.
Delivering the introductory note, Director, Rural Development, Imlimeren Jamir also highlighted that the objective of Planplus is to facilitate the planning process in the local language by supporting activity need planning rather than scheme driven and enabling citizen participation in the planning process. It further converge the flow of funds from different sources and capturing of the planning process. Jamir also mentioned that this is the first time the State of Nagaland is participating in the preparation of GPDP and further urged the trainees to take the training seriously and to thoroughly learn from the Master Trainers which will result in the creation of durable assets.
Earlier, joint director, RD, K. Neibou Sekhose welcomed the master trainers and participating trainees from all the districts and conveyed that the Additional secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj had praised the State earlier for the progress and work done with regard to GPDP
