Training on Rubber Tapping & Processing held

Peren, January 16 (DIPR): The Department of Land Resources in collaboration with the Rubber Board Regional Office, Dimapur conducted four days training from January 9 to 12, 2018 at Lilen Village on Scientific Rubber Tapping and Processing for IWMP-1 (Batch-1). The training covered eight villages including Lilen, Phaijol, Vongkithem, Inbung, Peilhang, Bongkolong, New Beisumpui and New Chalkot.   Resource person, Arup Gogoi from Rubber Board Regional Office demonstrated the scientific method of rubber tapping and processing.  

President, Kuki Inpi, L. Gante graced the concluding ceremony as the guest of honour. Encouraging the participants to minimize the practice of Jhum cultivation, he advised them to take up plantation of rubber and other commercial crops for their sustainability. He appreciated the farmers for their contribution to the socio economic development of the society. Altogether 31 trainees from the different villages attended the training.
