Tuensang, January 19 (MExN): The celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) week will begin from January 20-26 all over the country. In line with the celebration, Tuensang SDO (Civil) Shelley Katiry, in a press release informed that the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang has come out with a series of activities to be organized over the BBBP week in Tuensang district headquarters.
January 20: Walkathon and Social Work; January 21: Essay & Graffiti Competition; January 22 & 23: A two-day cooking/culinary skills training for 40 adolescent girls; January 24: National Girl Child Day - Morning: Half-Marathon for adolescent girls, afternoon – Know your DC & Superintendent of Police (A select group of adolescent girls will be given the opportunity to visit the offices and bungalows of DC & SP. They will also get the opportunity to interact with DC & SP over coffee); January 25: National Voters' Day – To felicitate first-time female voters with certificates and tokens; January 26: Republic Day Mega signature campaign pledging support for BBBP will be organized at the venue of the celebration which will be inaugurated by the dignitary hoisting the national tri-colour. Photo booth will be set up alongside where anyone can take pictures/selfie after signing on the pledge. A print out of the picture will be handed out instantly for free to every parent/guardian who click picture in the booth with his/her daughter.
Similar activities will be conducted in all the sub-divisional headquarters under Tuensang district, the release informed.
