Two kids killed by accidental grenade explosion

Newmai News Network Imphal | January 21   Two children were killed while three others injured critically when a hand grenade exploded in west Manipur on Sunday, January 21. The children had reportedly presumed the grenade to be a toy and were playing with it when it accidentally exploded on Sunday around 9.30 am at Subunglong Part 1 village under Khoupum Police Station in Noney district, west Manipur. The spot of the incident is located about 14 km from Khoupum Police Station, according to reports. Reports suggested that the parents of the victims were in a church service when the incident happened. Meanwhile, the deceased have been identified as Shahatngam (9) and Silash (5). The former was killed on the spot while the latter died on the way to a hospital, sources stated. The injured children have been identified as Gailuanshui (9), Zaojianthuliu (2) and Guilianei (4). No one could find a clue as to how and from where the children got hold of the explosive.
