Two residential buildings in Kohima at PWD colony were destroyed by fire on March 7 suspected to have started from a short circuit. Official sources said the fire broke out around 9 am in the morning. The fire services received a telephone call around 9:15 am and reached the spot around 9.30 am. Official sources said that it took almost two hours and four fire tender vehicles to douse off the flame. An estimated twenty lakhs worth of property were destroyed in the fire accident. Sources said two gas cylinders blasted during the fire in the highly populated area below PWD office.
