UKHRUL | April 14 : In a devastating fire, all the 7 rooms of a family belonging to one Masoyo Vaca of Shiroy village was completely charred to ashes today at around 1:50 pm, according to the source from the victim family expressed in a sad mood when this Ukhrul exclusively interacted at his charred house premises and said the cause of the fire was expected due to the electric short circuit. The Shiroi village is situated just 11 kilometers away from the Ukhrul Head Quarter.
The family source also disclosed that the inferno had created the loss of 7-8 lacs worth properties plus the wooden infra-structure of the seven rooms and among some of the charred properties included Generator,, Scooter, Television sets, sewing machine, LPG cooking gas two, almirahs and large numbers of furniture and kitchen sets.
But fortunately there was no human casualties as the villagers had timely intervened to prevent further expansion of fire to ignite the compact neighbors’ houses around. The Ukhrul Fire fighters team reached the spot following the villagers informed or communicated through phones but by the time they reached the village, the inferno was completed or over. The source disclosed. It is also reported and learned that the team of Ukhrul District Police led by the SDPO rushed to the spot and took necessary reports of the incident.
