Kiphire, December 14 (MExN): United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) held a handing and taking over programme at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall in Kiphire Hq on December 14.
Seopi Sangtam, President USLP who was speaking on behalf of the incoming team thanked the outgoing team for the selfless service rendered towards the Sangtams. He further appealed for their continued support and guidance, stated a press release from Kyupise Anar press and info secretary.
“I love and revere the rich and proud history of Sangtams and I am determined to take our best tradition into the future. But with respect, we need to build bridge to the future and that is what I commit to you to do.” assured the newly inducted president. Assuring the gathering to work for the overall progress of society, Seopi added “let us resolve to build that bridge to meet our challenges and protect our values.”
Speaking on behalf of the outgoing team former President USLP, Yanghopi Sangtam pointed out that during the past four years as president he witnessed the power of faith and the quiet dignity of working people in the face of struggle. Maintaining that change only happens when ordinary people get involved and engage and come together to demand it, he stated that “it is this conviction that we are all created equal and endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights among them life, liberty and the pursue of happiness.”
New USLP team for the tenure 2019-2022 will be led by Seopi Sangtam President and P. Achumse Sangtam General Secretary.
