Imphal, July 25 (NNN): Several passengers were injured with four of them in critical conditions after a Winger (van) met with an accident in Ukhrul district today. According to the PRO of IGAR(South), the vehicle heading from Imphal to Chassad in Ukhrul district met with the accident around 10:00 am when it took a sharp turn and collided with a truck laden with logs coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the accident was such that the Winger was thrown away by around 10 meters. Hearing about the accident, a team of 17 Assam Rifles headed by Assistant Commandant Robin Goyal rushed to the location and provided necessary first aid to the injured, the PRO of IGAR(S) added. Out of the ten passengers travelling in the vehicle, four were critically injured and two had minor injuries. Four of the injured were given complete treatment and sent back to their villages, while remaining two were referred to Imphal after providing necessary first aid, the PRO added.
