Kohima, May 2 (MExN): A sensitization programme for village councils and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) on Ayushman Bharat Diwas – PM-NHPM was held at Paramedical Training Institute (PMTI), Kohima on April 28.
Organized by the District Health Society, Kohima, the programme was chaired by Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Avile Zao, who highlighted the importance of PM-NHPM.
A press release from Chief Medical Officer’s office informed that the Government of India is launching Pradhan Mantri National Health Protection Mission (PM-NHPM) to provide protection to poor, vulnerable and downtrodden families of both rural and urban areas.
The scheme is an entitlement based and entitlement of the beneficiary is decided on the basis of family being figured in Socio–Economic Caste Census (SECC) data. To make this a success, it is critical to reach the targeted beneficiaries effectively and inform them about the scheme details and their entitlements, the release stated.
Identification of eligible beneficiaries and additional information such as mobile phone number, Ration Card number, and family details is to be captured on Ayushman Bharat Diwas during Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’s sittings as initiated by the Government of India, it added.
