VK area farmers attend Sankalp Se Siddhi prog

Zunheboto, August 31 (MExN): Sankalp Se Siddhi programme was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Zunheboto, Nagaland University at VK Town in Zunheboto district on August 30.

Parliamentary Secretary Youth Resource & Sports and Music Task Force, Khekaho Assumi was the chief guest. Khekaho Assumi stated that it is a red letter day for farmers of VK area because initiation of doubling farmers income programme by the KVK, ATMA and other agencies will help to solve the problems faced by the farming community which will ultimately led to increase in productivity of crops. He also explained that the KVKs and ATMA can only give technological intervention but it is the farmer who has to harvest the benefit.

Welcome address was delivered by Dr. Visakho Shunyu, SMS (Agronomy & GPB) and Strategies to double farmer’s income was delivered by Dr. Kunadan Kumar, SMS (Agril Extension). Message of Agricultural Minister was read out by Edenly Chishi.

Pledge on Sankalp Se Siddhi in Sumi dialect was read out by Khekaho Assumi and taken by all. Project Director ATMA, Zhekheto urged the farmers to select crops based on their needs. Prof. John Sema Department of Political Science asked the participating farmers to have the determination to attainment. He urged upon the farmers for a corruption free system and called upon for increasing production for self sufficiency.
