Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Council on September 30 initiated Swachhta Hi Seva campaign with the slogan ‘sanitation is everyone’s business, let’s make Swachh Bharat Mission a reality.’
The cleanliness drive was conducted the road between TK Angami Complex to Suburban Police Station, Signal Bosti.
Speaking about the drive, Niranjan Saha, President, VWF on the occasion said that it was not only a cleanliness drive but also an awareness programme as it can ignite importance among passersby about cleanliness.
He expressed that though it won’t happen overnight eventually clean India will be a reality. Liaison officer of DMC Ganesh Sharma who was also overlooking the activity said that DMC had provided a JCB, labourers and trucks for the drive.
It needs to be mentioned here that VWF is also looking to adopt the stretch of road near Dimapur Railway High School for a year and look after its cleanliness during the period. An official announcement about it from DMC is awaited, it was stated in a release.
