Don’t called back consumers miss calls with numbers having prefix other than +91, a TRAI representative cautioned today. “These could be international calls with very high ISD charge. Do not respond on fake/fraudulent call relating to insurance policy details, bank credit/debit cards information,” said TN Das, Joint Advisor, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Kolkata during its first ever consumer outreach programme held here at Kohima on December 9. He also informed that TRAI has received numerous complaints about tower frauds in recent times. Cautioning against fraud company which promises high rent for setting up of tower/BTS and disappearing after taking money in the name of the government’s fee or taxes, he informed that TRAI has no role (either directly or indirectly) in installation of mobile towers.
