WASA’s 50th Annv from Jan11

Kohima, January 5 (MExN): The 50th anniversary of Western Angami Sports Association (WASA) will take place from January 11 to 15 at WAPO Ground, Sechü Zubza. The five day long 50th anniversary will be marked by volleyball, wrestling, sepaktakraw, chess, table tennis, football, badminton, athletics and cultural extravaganza. Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie will grace the inaugural function as the chief host on January 11 at 10:00 AM. Er. Vikho-o Yhoshü, MLA and advisor, information technology & communication will grace the closing function as the chief guest on January 15 at 1:00 PM. Host of honors for the 50th anniversary includes; Rovilato Mor, Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Dr. Lhouvi Nakhro, director health services and Nino Iralu, additional district & session judge, FTC Kohima. The inaugural function will be chaired by L. Kenneth Punyü, convenor organizing committee and Rokovino Nakhro as compere. Lighting of the tournament torch will be done by Satuo Sechü, advisor WASA while Dovo Chase, president WASA will deliver welcome address. Greetings will be shared by Vikehielie Khawakhrie, president Western Angami Public Organization while Jotsoma Village Sports Association will present drill display.  WASA games and sports secretary Vitsalhou Kesiezie will administer oath to the participants.
